Can you send me a direct email at scott [dot] quitters [at] gmail [dot] com? I had to write it out that way to avoid spambots finding my email address and spamming me.
The email you sent from my website doesn't have your email address listed. I'll have to fix the setting that controls that option, when I can figure it out. :-)
Thanks for your great feedback about my Motivation series on my blog! I replied to them. ;-) Keep me posted on how you're motivated to make the important changes needed to go from dreaming to doing!
Well, you've already done two assignments. :-) You read and commented on two posts in the motivation series. With the exception of the Introduction post, the next assignment is to read, vote and comment on the rest of the posts in the series. All I ask is that you vote and comment honestly. I'll depend on your on-going honesty because that's exactly the kind of feedback I'm looking for. If there is are any specific parts that jump out for you, let me know what you found particularly meaningful.
The next assignment (which can be done at any time) is to go to the Contact Us page and drop me a quick email. That way I can send future assignments directly to you rather than through The Marshall Planet.
If you know anyone else who may be interested in these posts, please encourage them to stop by and read them. I'm in the early stages of these books. I want the final products to blow people away and totally inspire them. I want people to be so excited and impassioned by them that they can't help but share links with everyone they know on the Internet. That's my dream because then I'll know that I've been able to help people possibly move beyond obstacles or mixed up thinking.
Again, I'm so happy that you got so much out of the two posts you've read. I need feedback readers of all ages so it's great that you're on board.
Sincerely,
Scott
PS By the way, if you're on Twitter, you can follow me. I'm @ScottQuitter. If you follow me, be sure to tell me your Twitter name so I'll know who you are.
I sincerely appreciate your exuberant approbation. The feedback is very meaningful to me. I'm very happy that you were so inspired by my articles. That's the reaction I was hoping for when I wrote the them. I really want my motivation series to have that affect on people. This is one way in which I want to help people. It's one of my life missions.
As you may be aware, I'm writing two ebooks on motivation. One will be free and the other one I will charge for. The fee-only ebook will have expanded content and specific strategies, and more.
If you are interested in being one of my feedback readers, I'll send you reading assignments--all on the subject of motivation--then you can reply with your impressions and general feedback.
Later on, I'll probably get your opinion about different titles I'm considering, maybe additional article titles and your opinion about the layout of the ebooks. I'll even get your opinion about pricing as well. In the end, you'll get a free finished copy of each ebook for all your effort.
Yeah, some of my friends get angry at me when I write, because it really is like hybernating in some sense. You don't do anything else, but write! And when you get on a roll, you can't stop. Ha!
Oh, absolutely! That sounds so cool! I wish I had more of an imagination like that, to think of what'd it be like in the future and all the details of it. It sounds interesting, I'd love to read it! How'd you come of with all of that?
That's so crazy you were just in the shower, and then boom, a story arises! Ha! I love it!
I'm similar to you in a way. I love stories, and telling stories too! Yes, I've always been a talker, and the one who liked to tell people things and describe all that happened during an event.
I'm actually homeschooled, I've been homeschooled for the past two and half years now partically due to my health. Last year, I kinda had a "low moment" in life, if you catch my drift. I kinda sat around, did nothing, slept all day. I stopped being friends with a person after knowing them for like 5 years of my life! And she was the girl who let me know I could tell stories! What are the odds? Anyway, I lost that friend, and I'm what? 16 now? I didn't know who I was! So I kinda put myself in a bubble, as dumb as that sounds. Feeling sorry for myself. And all I had was my computer and me. I always imagined stories in my mind, all the time I was entertaining myself with my silly thoughts and in depth stories.
So one day, I just could not sleep, at all! Something was in me, dying to get out, and finally I sat at my computer and typed away! I didn't stop writing for three days straight! My whole family thought I was in some crazy depression, because I literally said nothing for three days. [ I'm a bad liar, and I never keep things from my family, but I couldn't say anything. I was embarrassed I'd written a romance novel! Ha! ]
I never intended for anyone to read my story either, so I'm now going back changing names of characters, because in some aspect of it all, its very much related to my life, and actually things that have happened to ME. But then I changed it into a new world of people....
In Mr. Marshalls book, he says that we can make up a story based on pretty much anything in our lives, or things we see. All you do is pick up one thing, add this, subtract that, and you've got a story base. Its incredible!
I hope one day, I can read what your writing, and be like " I talked to this author! I know her! "
Keep up the stories and congrats on all the words you've put down so far! I'm so excited to have a fellow writer to talk to.
What's your story about? Have you gotten close to finishing it?
Hey Taylor! That's amazing there are more young writers out there, I agree! Glad to chat with one right now! So how long have you been writing? How'd you get into it?
I'm so pleased my book has been helpful to you. I sometimes hear from writers that at first they didn't think my system was for them, and then they had another look and found that it worked. Now people are discovering the software.
I know, isn't that funny about the CD? But I wrote the book in 1997! Hard to believe. A lot has changed since then.
Thanks again, Taylor. It's great to have you with us on The Planet!
We're writers so naturally, we have the gift of talk. If I am going to listen to anyone talk, I much prefer listening (or reading) a writer talk! They're usually not so boring to listen to. You fit into this group, so, no, you haven't bored me one bit.
I have many goals and many projects that I'm working on. My wife and I write out goals on December 31/January 1 every year. While other people are out clubbing, we're writing our goals. We stop at midnight to smooch and make a few quick phone calls, then we get back to our goals. I can think of no better way to celebrate the coming of a new year than by looking ahead to all our wonderful plans.
In case you're interested, you can read a little bit about my goal-setting process in a guest post I wrote recently called, Nine Tips for Setting and Achieving Your Goals. If you do happen to read it, I'd love your feedback on it. So please consider leaving a comment at the end of the post.
Now, as for writing goals, I write for several blogs, including my blog here. So I keep writing every week. As for special projects, I have a fiction novel waiting for me to get back to it after putting it down for a few years. I'm hoping to pick that up this year. I have another book that I'm writing that's about motivating piano students to practice. This is based on a system I developed over 10 years and resulted in some student practicing 1-2 hours per day on their own (without parents reminding them). Also, I'm writing two more books on motivation for general audiences. Both of these will be ebooks; one will be a free version (like motivation-lite) because I wanted something I could share with everyone. The other one, I'll charge for. I'm currently looking for people to give me feedback on the material. You can read about that in my forum post called Help Wanted, in case this interests you.
Right now, my two motivation ebooks are my number-one priority. I love helping people. I'm passionate about helping people to reframe how they see the world so that it removes obstacles. This is how I approach my "life coaching" when I have clients. I don't pursue that as a priority but really enjoy it.
Well, I guess my reply is another example of a writer being long-winded. But, as I said, we're writers and we do that from time to time. (I do it a lot! LOL). Guess I'll stop here.
Welcome to The Marshall Planet! Wow, you're 13,000+ words into your novel? Bravo!! That's so awesome. You seem to be well on your way to accomplish your goal of doing what you love--writing. Heck, you're already doing it. Woohoo!
So do you have a well-defined plan of how you're going to accomplish your goal, long term?
