The Marshall Planet

A Community of Writers Who Use The Marshall Plan®

Hello people, I'm new on this site and wondered why I haven't heard about it till now. I love writing and I write what I know and live. I never realized how difficult it was to get an agent or even receive positive feedback from publishers concerning Black fiction. I was contacted by an African American publisher touting all the wonderful writers she has in her firm. But the problem is, is the fact that I have never heard of any of them including their book titles. Would appreciate any help I can receive from this community.

Triple Crown is the publishing company. It's founder is a ex offender name Vicki Stringer. She has loads of writers with what appears to be hundreds of novels. But no one has ever heard of any of the titles or writers in her stable.

Hi Ronald,

I did some research and Triple Crown seems to be quite legit and thriving. On Preditors & Editors, a website that ranks agents and publishers, the company got a "Recommended." Vickie herself is writing for Simon & Schuster.

Did Vickie contact you about some material you submitted to her?

Best,
Evan

No, it was one of her staffers. I'm to do some editing and then return the document to them. But as I stated earlier , why have my book shoved between the hundreds of other titles she has that no one on God's green earth has heard of ?

Hello,

As a publisher author of a historical African American biography, with a second one on the way, I have a few ideas and suggestions. One issue can be related to the content of some black fiction. However, there are those authors who never gave up on their dream and are successful. . My great grandfather, F.H.M. Murray inspired me with, "Never give up, never give in, never stop until you win, win, win."

There are several resources available for you to contact. I have never used either one but I have met them both and they are growing icons in the book and publishing industry. Check out these for starters.
